Texas Representative, District 64
Mary Brown
I’m running because, like others, I’ve had enough of the Texas Legislature forgetting who put them in office and where the future of Texas is coming from. They’ve slashed budgets for public education, health, and human services while maintaining subsidies and incentive payments to oil and gas companies making record profits. They’ve forgotten that money can’t vote and the people of Texas can.
As a Texas State Legislator, I will strive to:
- Maintain and increase the civil rights of our citizens.
- Reform the ethics of the state government, from top to bottom.
- Look towards the energy future of Texas with a transition to alternative energy sources.
- Provide educators with the tools they need to educate our future leaders.
- Help those that have paid their debt to society assimilate back into the community.
- Protect the most marginalized segments of the population.
- Make the biennium budget as though Texas will still be here in 100 years.

United States Representative, Texas District 26
David Sanchez
- I support the American Jobs Act.
- We need to close tax loopholes so the richest Americans and large corporations pay their fair share to reduce the budget deficit.
- I believe in immigration reform through the Dream Act.
- Green technology will not only create jobs in the North Texas area but will also reduce the US oil dependency on foreign nations and most importantly protect our environment.
- I believe in equality for everyone regardless of religious affiliation, sexuality, race, color, creed, income level or age.
- We need to have a solid and stable Social Security and Medicare program so our seniors can be assured their hard work is compensated, not forgotten.
- We must invest in our educational system. We need more teachers, better technology, and a safer and more productive learning environment for our children.
- We need a student loan reform program that will improve Pell grants and loan repayment/forgiveness programs.
- I believe in affordable health care programs.

Constable, Precinct 6
Ken Williams
I am running for Constable Office Precinct 6 because I have the law enforcement experience, qualifications, and knowledge to lead this office to a new beginning. I will be the voice of the community and I will restore integrity and trust to our citizens in our community.
- I will be open to all suggestions, ideas and maintain a “open door policy” for our residents.
- Our office will educate the community on all the Constable’s job descriptions and duties.
- Our office will serve and protect all residents in our community.
- Our top priority is the safety of children at all times, especially at school crossings.
- One of my major concerns will be crime reduction within our precinct 6 district.
The time is now for your support. Democrat Ken Williams is here to stay.

Chair, Denton County Democratic Party
John McClelland
These are the keys to building a better and more successful Democratic Party in Denton County.
- Build a Strong Farm Team. We must develop a strong Farm team from which to field candidates—identifying the right person for the right office; giving them the training and support they need to be successful on any level.
- Build A Strong Grassroots Network. Our Party succeeds when we have precinct chairs and volunteers in the field. Giving precinct chairs and volunteers the training they need to make positive voter contact (door to door, phone, internet, etc) is key to winning elections.
- Build A Strong Bank Account. Our Party succeeds when it has the funds to implement a field campaign. Telling donors why we need them to donate– what their money supports, how it will be used in specific terms. Increasing the number of large one time and sustaining members. Working in conjunction with the Club to continue and build on events. Continuing to make the ask, big or small, at all times!
- Build A Strong Message. We need to let Democrats know why they should be voting for Democrats. Distinguish ourselves from the opposition.
- Set Goals. Each committee has strategic goals and success factors on which to judge. The County Chair will have the same for each term of office.
- Build Our Map. The Party will be supportive and active in all cities and regions of Denton County. Not one corner or any point in between will be ignored or unappreciated.

Let’s continue the course to:
- Elect Democrats to every elected office and board in Denton County, as well those candidates for state and national positions.
- Improve communications to reach out to all county Democrats.
- Be a highly recognized representative of the Party in local issues that affect residents of the towns and cities across the county, such as gas drilling.
- Educate new voters.
- Fight for voter rights through education, assistance with voter ID, and increased availability of polling locations.
- Coordinate Party efforts with individual campaigns to increase communications and messaging with voters.
- Assist candidates through a coordinated campaign, as well as providing high quality campaign training and information and experts from previous campaigns.
- Reach out to minority communities as an inclusive Party that represents every citizen in Denton County.
- Streamline operations and reduce overhead costs so that a greater percentage of DCDP money is spent on voter outreach and education.
- End the statement, “I thought I was the only Democrat in Denton County.”
